Peran Lembaga Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (LPM) Desa dalam Penyelenggaraan Good Governance: Studi Kasus Desa Gekbrong Kabupaten Cianjur

Abstract

This article discusses and analyzes the role of the Village Community Empowerment Institution (LPMD) in Gekbrong Village, Cianjur Regency, towards the community. This article's literature review focuses on community empowerment and good governance literature. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods, collecting primary data through in-depth interviews with representatives of the Gekbrong Village LPMD, observation and documentation. The research results show that the Gekbrong Village LPMD carries out its role in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. As a container for community aspirations, LPMD contributes to improving good governance. The mechanism for implementing the LPMD role involves conveying aspirations through village meetings and integrating village government performance in accordance with community aspirations. Even though there are obstacles in implementing activities, LPMD continues to strive to find solutions to overcome every change and obstacle that arises. Supporting factors for the role of the Gekbrong Village LPMD include geographical aspects that speed up access to information in the political, social, economic and cultural fields. Apart from that, the existence of other social organizations also supports LPMD's role in developing society. It is hoped that the application of good governance principles in public services in the village government in Gekbrong Village can meet community needs and increase access and community empowerment by the village government in collaboration with LPMD.
